In accordance with Decree-Law No. 7/2004 of 7 January (transposing the European directive on electronic commerce), any provider of information society services established in Portugal must clearly identify its activity. This page brings together this information for the adap.pt website.

ADAP (Association d’Accueil au Portugal) is not, to date, a formally declared association in the strict legal sense. The site is published in a personal capacity by François Wilman.

2. Nature of the site

adap.pt is a non-commercial community platform for French nationals established in Portugal. It offers informative content (blog, practical guides), a community space reserved for registered members (private social network via BuddyPress), and related services (community outings, conversational assistant, civic monitoring, member-to-member feedback).

As of the writing of this page, no service offered on adap.pt is paid. This page will be updated should this change.

4. Distinction between public content and content reserved for registered members

Part of the site’s content (blog, general information pages) is accessible to any visitor. Other features and content (social network, certain community groups, member-to-member feedback) are reserved for people who have created an account, and in some cases who have joined a specific group under that group’s own terms.

5. Protection of personal data

The processing of personal data of users, registered or not, is detailed in the dedicated Privacy Policy, available on a separate page of the site, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Portuguese law. The competent supervisory authority is the CNPD (Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados — www.cnpd.pt).

All content on the adap.pt website (text, logo, graphic identity, layout, illustrations), except for content posted by members themselves, is the property of François Wilman / ADAP, unless otherwise stated. Any reproduction, representation, modification or distribution of these elements, in whole or in part, without prior authorisation, is prohibited.

Content posted by registered members (posts, contributions, reviews, listings, etc.) remains the property of their respective authors. By publishing it on adap.pt, the member grants ADAP a non-exclusive, free-of-charge licence, for the duration of the publication, allowing the display, formatting and distribution of this content on the site as part of its normal operation. The member remains free to have their content removed at any time, in accordance with the terms set out in the Terms of Use.

8. Disputes

This site is published from Portugal by a private individual established there. Unless mandatory legal provisions state otherwise (in particular consumer-protection rules that may apply depending on the user’s country of residence), Portuguese law applies and the Portuguese courts have sole jurisdiction over any dispute relating to the use of the site.
